We usually go to story hour at the bookstore on Saturdays, and I think Charlie is growing to love books! A few months ago he wouldn’t sit still long enough for an entire story, even a short board book. But now he will turn the pages himself and even brings you stories sometimes. His favorites at the moment are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (so cute!) and Goodnight Ipad. The moose with the cookie in the picture above was not a favorite, apparently.
Its been a while since I posted any pictures of soapy, splashy Charlie, so here they are:
1. Those eyelashes! I wish I could find a mascara that worked so well, ha.
2. He’s finally getting a haircut- in two weeks. In the meantime, I think I might have to use a bobby pin to keep the hair out of his eyes. Between that and the eyelashes, you don’t think he’ll be mistaken for a girl do you? 🙂
3. I love how in both the pictures of me kissing his cheek and Brandon kissing his cheek, he’s just looking at the camera, completely unamused. Oh yeah, he loves Mommy and Daddy.
4. Brandon took the picture where he is hanging over the side of the tub, and its one of my favorites. First because that’s so Charlie- he doesn’t ever sit in the bathtub. He hangs over the edge, tries to climb out, stands, etc. Second because I love the water droplet falling… it looks cool on the original photo too. (None of the originals were stellar photos- haven’t really figured out how to take good indoor photos- so I decided to add filters just for fun.)
Oops, that was four things.
All of these photos are from a couple of weekends ago, when it was just the boys (and Nana for a day). Brandon is so good about taking pictures when I’m at work- its nice to be able to see how they spent their day.
A good naptime after an exhausting morning at Little Gym.
I love pictures of him sleeping. Maybe because I’m usually afraid to wake him up, so I only ever peek in on him. Don’t want to risk shortening naptime in any way.
This weekend its not just the boys, I get to hang out too! Hope we get some more playground time.
Nothing better than lazy summer pool days with family. Check out the photo below- my sweet niece was lovin’ it.
I’m sad for the end of these nice summer days. And I really don’t know how I’m going to keep C entertained without daily trips the playground or pool!
Don’t mind how long after his actual birthday it took me to put this post together… I was mourning the loss of the first party I planned. Seriously, it was going to be really cute. Red balloon bunting, different patterned fabric on the tables, cute centerpieces (buckets of pool toys that were actually the favors) and of course displaying all of his weekly photos (strung up on twine). Mommy spend too much time on pinterest… but that party didn’t happen. (Lifeguards, what’s a
little lot of thunder and ok, lightning too, plus a downpour of rain? Really, you need to close the pool? Ohok. I guess its necessary. Although at the time, I didn’t think so.) We moved the party back to our house, which worked out ok in the end. It was easier to serve the food and Charlie was in his element, but it wasn’t nearly as cute! And had I known 30+ people were going to be at our house, I might have cleaned up a little bit. Ha, just kidding.
The cake Nana made was so cool! It looked like one of his favorite toys- the drum. Even had drumsticks made of Twizzlers and marshmallows, she is so creative. I don’t know what Charlie thought of the whole thing, but Brandon (and everyone else) loved it.
